Paul Harvey, America's broadcast paragon of news and comment, has been heard on WOCA NewsTalk 1370, since 1968. What's more, he's under contract until well into the 21st century. His five-minute morning wrap up of news airs at 8:30 AM. Mid-days, the Paul Harvey News and Commentary is heard at 11:35 AM. His offbeat and highly-popular "Rest of the Story" is a veritable radio 'fixture' at 4:00 PM daily. His Saturday News Roundup airs at 12:30pm.

Paul Harvey has said that he was "raised in radio newsrooms' and no one could possibly dispute that statement. He has earned an awesome reputation, starting his radio career in 1933 at tiny KVOO, Tulsa, Oklahoma. His career then traced through KOMA, Oklahoma City, KXOK, St. Louis, a stint in the Army Air Corps where he just missed Pearl Harbor, and then to the ABC affiliate in Chicago, where he's been for nearly 50 years.

His news programs are heard on more than 1,700 stations in the U.S. and in 120 countries around the world and his syndicated newspaper column appears in more than 300 papers. He's been the recipient of eleven honorary degrees and other outstanding distinctions, including:

  • Freedom Foundations
  • National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame
  • Horatio Alger Award
  • Commentator of the Year
  • Salesman of the Year
  • American of the Year
  • Person of the Year
  • Father of the Year
  • Gallup Poll list of America's Most Admired Men
  • Marconi Award

With his unique slant on world, national and small-town events, his instantly recognizable delivery, his uncanny ability to draw listeners in, and his signature "Good Day!" he's a veritable American (and Ocala) institution.
